The Intermediate-mass Young Stellar Object 08576nr292: Discovery of a disk-jet system

چکیده
We present observations of the embedded massive young stellar object (YSO) candidate 08576nr292, obtained with X-shooter and SINFONI on the ESO Very Large Telescope (VLT). The flux-calibrated, medium-resolution X-shooter spectrum (300 – 2500 nm) includes over 370 emission lines, but no (photospheric) absorption lines and is consistent with a reddened disk spectrum. Among the emission lines are three hydrogen series and helium lines, both permitted and forbidden metal lines, and CO first-overtone emission. A representative sample of lines with different morphologies is presented. The Hα and Ca II triplet lines are very strong, with profiles indicative of outflow and – possibly – infall, usually observed in accreting stars. These lines include a blue-shifted absorption component at ∼−125 km s−1. The He I and metal-line profiles are double-peaked, with a most likely origin in a circumstellar disk. The forbidden lines, associated

The Stellar-Disk Electric (Short) Circuit: Observational Predictions for a YSO Jet Flow
Abstract We discuss the star-disk electric circuit for a young stellar object (YSO) and calculate the expected torques on the star and the disk. We obtain the same disk magnetic field and star-disk torques as given by standard magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) analysis. We show how a short circuit in the star-disk electric circuit may produce a magnetically-driven jet flow from the inner edge of a disk...
متن کاملInteraction of young stellar object jets with their accretion disk ⋆
I reexamine recent observations of velocity profiles across jets blown by young stellar objects, and argue that the observations do not support the interpretation of jets rotating around their symmetry axes. Instead, I propose that the interaction of the jets with a twisted-tilted (wrapped) accretion disk can form the observed asymmetry in the jets’ line of sight velocity profiles. The proposed...
متن کاملTracing the root of the bipolar jet in IRAS 20126+4104: VLBA observations of H2O masers
We present VLBA observations of the H2O masers towards IRAS 20126+4104, a high-mass young stellar object which is believed to be associated with a rotating disk and a bipolar outflow/jet system collimated along the disk axis. A model fit to the positions and velocities of the maser spots demonstrates that these could arise on a conical surface at the interface between the jet and the surroundin...
متن کاملThe effect of variation of stellar dispersion velocities by the galactic latitude in interpreting gravitational microlensing observations
Our galaxy is a spiral galaxy and its stars are mostly in a thin disk and rotate around the galactic center. The vertical component of the dispersion velocity of stars is a function of the galactic latitude and decreases with increasing it. In the galactic Besancon model, this dependence is ignored and they just consider the dependence of dispersion velocity on the stellar age. Becanson model i...
متن کاملMass loss at the lowest stellar masses ⋆
We report the discovery of a jet in a [SII] image of Par-Lup3-4, a remarkable M5-type pre-main sequence object in the Lupus 3 star-forming cloud. The spectrum of this star is dominated by the emission lines commonly interpreted as tracers of accretion and outflows. Par-Lup3-4 is therefore at the very low-mass end of the exciting sources of jets. High resolution spectroscopy shows that the [SII]...
